If tears could build a stairway,
And memories a lane,
I’d walk right up to heaven,
And bring you home again.
“The beautiful white horse”, as she had come to be known in the Kansas
City area, Silvie took her last breath in June 2003 at the age of 29
years. She was a celebrity in her own right, carrying Larry in every major
parade and opening ceremony around town for many years. Many of Silvie’s
foals became great pleasure and trail horses – one even won a National
Endurance Race in California! After news broke of Silvie’s death, cards
and letters poured into Larry’s work showing just how much the famous
white horse of Kansas City meant to everyone who met her.
Silvie will never be forgotten.
Angel will always hold a special place in our hearts. She was Ruth’s first high quality show fox trotter. She carried Jessica in her very first show. She was even pictured on a poster that hung in the cook shack at Ava for many years! She has given us a total of seven beautiful foals that all have her spirit. Angel died less than 24 hours after giving birth to her last foal, Mickey’s Special Edition, due to a ruptured intestine at the age of 21 years. She was such an amazing mare that she managed to deliver a healthy foal and allow him to nurse completely until she could no longer stand up.
Angel will forever amaze us and will always be missed.
We lost Pip to colic at just six months old. We had been looking forward to what she would have become. This full sister to multiple World Grand Champion "A Fancy Floozy" will never be able to follow in her sister's footsteps, but we know she will be watching over all of us from now on.
We will miss her forever and always wonder what might have been.
